Blackboard is a Web-based course management system that provides 24/7 access to course materials and communication tools, such as discussion boards and chats, in a secure, user-friendly environment. To learn more about Blackboard use at BSU visit ChalkDust, an online newsletter focusing on using technology at Ball State. To learn more about Blackboard and its use in the classroom visit Blackboard.com. Use the Blackboard Maintenance Menu to create/copy your Blackboard course sites, create developement course sites, and more. Take a look at the Blackboard FAQ to search for answers to your questions online. RealMedia streaming video Blackboard tutorials are also available for Students and Instructors. Blackboard Reference Materials Getting Started with Blackboard: A Blackboard basics tutorial Managing Course Documents: Includes creating folders, creating items, color coding item and folder names, learning units, uploading files like Microsoft Word documents and PowerPoint. Blackboard Course Design Tools: Includes course settings, course images, and managing groups. Assessment Tool Use in Blackboard 5.5: Includes creating normal and advanced quizzes and surveys, managing question pools, using the Blackboard gradebook, and Blackboard course statistics.
Communication Tool Use and Application within Blackboard 5.5: Includes discussion forums, the virtual classroom, the digital dropbox, and Blackboard's e-mail facilities.
Putting PowerPoint Lectures in Blackboard v5.5 at BSU: Includes uploading .ppt files, downloading the free PowerPoint viewer, saving PowerPoint as HTML, zipping HTML versions of PowerPoint, and sending PowerPoint to MSWord.
