A Teaching and Learning Faculty Development Lab - Fourth Floor Teachers College Building Technology Resources: Project aWWWare

project_aWWWare [formerly "Project IN:site"] projects help learners analyze, interpret and evaluate information, so that they can draw their own conclusions regarding controversial issues. They use an accompanying "Scale of Assurance" to find out just how certain they should be of the opinions and beliefs they form in the process. project_aWWWare is designed to target analysis, synthesis and evaluation skills.

The project is based upon an editable Web page template, and an interactive "Scale of Assurance." A sample lesson and corresponding project are provided as a starting point for project_aWWWare users.

Instructors should consult the Instructors Guide and students should read the Student Guidelines before using project_aWWWare. These documents require Adobe Acrobat Reader. A printable, Acrobat-based Scale of Assurance is available for users who prefer not to use the interactive version.

Educators seeking ideas for project_aWWWare projects may find the Sources for Controversial Issues site helpful. The Hotsheet "Super Search" also provides a convenient method for locating specific content-related information on the Internet.

project_aWWWare is not related to any other project, program, site, page or publication containing the words "aWWWare", or "aware".
