South Asia Center
is an intellectual meeting place for North American and South Asian
students, professionals, scholars, and educators interested in social
and cultural spaces and landscapes, and their various aspects, to engage
in research, collaborative learning, and professional and scholarly
exchanges. It is developed as a prime locus for collaboration among
South Asian professionals and academic and, thereby, a nexus for American
students, scholars, and professionals to collaborate with their South
Asian counterparts in a much broader and deeper way than what any collaborative
program between two particular schools affords. The Center is not a
physical place; rather it is defined by the semester-program conducted
by Ball State University in a selected city in South Asia.
