Why
do I need a LISTSERV®
password? Some LISTSERV web functions require you to login using your e-mail address and a special personal LISTSERV password. The requirement is dependent on certain list settings. For example, the list owner may restrict the viewing of list archives only to those people that have formally subscribed to the list. In this case, LISTSERV will prompt the user to login to determine if they are a list subscriber. To login, you will need to enter your e-mail address and your LISTSERV password. The easiest way to create a LISTSERV password is to click on the Create a LISTSERV Password on the LISTSERV homepage (follow the "Get password now" link above. You will be presented with the screen shown in fig.1.
Fill in your e-mail address and type in a password of your choosing. Please note that the password must be a minimum of 5 characters in length. Although this password is not electronically associated with your “BSU Computer Name” password, it may be easier to remember if you make them match. Please note that you must enter the password twice to protect against misspellings. Once done, click on the “Create password” button located right below the form fields.
If you regularly use multiple e-mail accounts, remember that LISTSERV is going to recognize you by your e-mail address and/or password combination. Remember to use the same e-mail address for all interaction with the list that used to subscribe. |
