Assessment Strategies:н Have some Q + A, judge singing of Bluetail Fly for rhythmic accuracy

Introduction:

нннннннн Provide Purpose/Motivation:

ннннннннннннннннннннннннннннннннннн Explain that this is an important concept to learn because it will make figuring out rhythms easier and will improve rhythmic accuracy

Strategies/Procedure

1.      Sing through song.

2.      Explain that beats are made up of smaller note values

3.      Give a visual representation (draw notes and subdivided 16ths)

4.      Class participation:н Have students clap rhythms.н Get people to physically represent 16th notes in a beat

5.      Sing through song with students tapping 16th notes on desks.

Closure:н Sing through song thinking about subdividing, but not physically doing so through tapping desks.
