Ball State University Singers

Lindsay Martin is the Wardrobe Supervisor for this year. She'll be taking care of costumes throughout the year. This letter is to inform you of what you are responsible to have, in terms of costumes, when you arrive at Ball State for Early Week in the fall.

We are not responsible to individually buy our own costumes. Each Glee Club woman is assigned 8 dresses and matching jewelry. The Glee Club men are assigned several different tuxes and jackets. The Band and Tech men are assigned a show tuxedo.

However, there are some items that you must purchase on your own. Please order these items as soon as possible, so that you will be sure to have them when you come to school in August.

The order numbers, suppliers, phone numbers, and websites are listed below. IF you already have these items you do not need to buy new ones. But make sure that what you have is exactly the same as listed below.

Glee Club Women

Please e-mail me lnmartin@bsu.edu or call me 574-261-0841 with the size you need (S, M, L). I have to order the briefs as one order. I will give them to you when you come to school, and you will need to pay me then. You can write a check to Lindsay Martin. I will let you know the cost when they come in. It will be approximately $10.00 a pair.

*You also need to have a pair of white “keds” sneakers. They don’t have to be actual keds. They just need to be white CANVAS shoes. You can get these at Wal-mart or wherever, BUT they must be all white! No marking of any kind (even rip off the blue keds thing or any kind or rubber stamp.)

*You will also need a fall that matches your natural hair color and texture. We will arrange a time to go get these as a group when we get back to campus in August.

Glee Club Men

*You also need to have a plain white t-shirt (make sure the t-shirt is somewhat tight since you were it under your costume), black and white dress socks, and white UNDERWEAR (no boxers or boxer-briefs). Glee club men also need to overdress black briefs or boxer-briefs (we had several seams split on stage last year, and black briefs would have been much less embarrassing!).

Band and Tech Men

*You need to have a white t-shirt to wear underneath your tux shirt. You will also need a black pair of dress socks and black dress shoes.

*IF you have your own tux, you can wear it. You are responsible to bring it to every show. Also, please put your name on every item of your tux so it doesn’t get mixed up with University Singers tuxes.

*Khaki pants (you WILL need these for the first weekend when we perform at State Fair):

There are two colors a darker and a lighter khaki...get the lighter of the two colors it goes with the ladies better but the item number matches the lighter pair anyway so there should not be any confusion!
