Greetings to a whole host of University Singers alumni and friends around these United States!
You may have heard the buzz: Ball State University Singers is taking a performance tour to the People’s Republic of China this next year!
Our tour is under the expert guidance of East-West Travel Group, based in Calgary, Alberta. They have years of experience in hosting groups such as ours, and in taking care of special needs like set, sound, costumes, and Customs clearances. In consultation with their Chinese artistic contacts, they’ve devised an itinerary that fits us very well. It includes five performances over a two-week period, with stays in Beijing, Tianjin, Deyang (Muncie’s sister city), Suzhou, and Shanghai.
YOU ARE INVITED to participate in this exciting trip as University Singers opens doors to new areas of the world, building on our tradition of touring that dates back over 30 years. We’ve been to Europe and western Asia. We’ve been all over this continent. We performed on cruise ships. Now it’s time to open up the East to our own special brand of entertainment!
What’s the cost? Your cost as an alumnus or friend of University Singers is $3990. That includes all transportation, all lodging in four- or five-star hotels, ALL meals (three per day), all tips, all visas, all extra trips (you’ll do other things when we’re setting up for performances)—in short, everything except the cost of your passport, and the cost of any souvenirs and snacks while you’re in China. BY COMPARISON, Ambassadair runs a similar trip at the same cost, but without three meals a day. WILL YOU JOIN US in this once-in-a-lifetime experience?
If you are a college student, or wish to be one again (say to renew a teaching license!), you could take this trip for International Studies credit at BSU for the same cost, and in so doing trigger some financial aid possibilities.
