Ball State University’s Teaching and Research Greenhouse (TRGH) is located in the southeast portion of Christy Woods.  The building was constructed in 1992 and has three main functions.  The TRGH houses the teaching collection, which contains plants from around the world for students to study.  The facility is available for University researchers who require plant material or space for growing research material. Lastly, the TRGH grows and houses display plants for University events, including commencement ceremonies, presidential receptions and official benefits.

The TRGH contains 3400 square feet under one roof.  There are approximately 3,000 plant specimens in the facility, and additions are ongoing and updated regularly.
