Characteristics

Habitat: moist woods
Plant Height: 30-90 cm tall, erect stem
Flower Color: white
Flower: perfect;; complete; sepals obsolete; 5 white petals; very small with 2 styles that do NOT extend beyond; 5 stamens alternate with petals
Inflorescence: compound, terminal umbels subtended by bracts
Fruit: club-shaped, black; sticks to clothing
Leaves: basal; cauline leaves alternate and 2-3 times divided, fern-like in appearance
Bloom Time: May-June
Origins: native
Other: stems softly hairy; compare with O. longistylis
