Purpose of this Course:

This course provides a system to help students learn about thinking.  Since all students have completed an introductory graduate course in cognition, this course will encourage students to examine theories, models, research, and applications of problem solving, decision making, reasoning, and other issues of intelligent human cognitive processing in more detail than they did in their introductory courses.  I encourage you to question general models of problem solving, decision making, reasoning, and other kinds of thinking and to gain perspective by exploring your questions and following your interests in artificial intelligence, cognitive development, and/or diversity issues.

Students with Disabilities: If

  • you need course adaptations or accommodations because of disability,
  • you have emergency medical information to share with me, or
  • you need special arrangements in case the building must be evacuated

please make an appointment with me as soon as possible.  Contact information is at the top of the page.
