Rafael Sanchez, a reporter for RTV6
since February 1998, became the reporter for the station's 'Call 6
for Help' segment in 2001. Previously, he was a reporter at
WSBT-TV, South Bend, Ind. He has also been a reporter for WANE-TV,
Fort Wayne, Ind.; KLBK-TV, Lubbock, Texas; and KYMA-TV, Yuma, Ariz.
Sanchez, a native of the Bronx in New York City, came to Indiana
when he attended Franklin College. He holds a bachelor's degree in
journalism, Spanish, and political science.

Justin Allen graduated from San Francisco State University with a
Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast and Electronic Communications. He joined
the station from KGET-NBC in Bakersfield, California, where he was the
Weekend Sports Anchor and reporter. He also hosted a live football
show. |

A 1990
graduate of UCLA, Arbuckle was a three-year starter at tight end.
While at UCLA, he was also an ESPN and United Press International All-American. Following
successful showing in the East-West Shrine Game and the Hula Bowl in
1990, Arbuckle was drafted in the fifth round of the 1990 NFL Draft by
the New Orleans Saints. Arbuckle's career spanned over five years with
four teams. He ended his career with the Indianapolis Colts in 1995. |

Anthony
Calhoun, also known as “A.C.” by his colleagues, joined WISH-TV in
August of 1998 as a sports anchor/reporter. In addition to his
reporting duties, he also anchors Sportslocker Saturday. He
graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science degree
in broadcast journalism. During his time at Syracuse University,
Anthony was a Remembrance Scholar, which is the highest award given by
the prestigious New York-based university. |

Award-winning anchor/report Tina Cosby re-joined WISH-TV in August
2002 as the stations new community affairs director. Tina
has received numerous awards for her service to the community
including honors from Big Sisters of Greater Indianapolis, the Boys
and Girls Club of Indianapolis and Girls Inc. of Indianapolis. She
has also received professional recognition for her journalistic work
from the National Association of Black Journalists, The Society of
Professional Journalists as well as an Emmy nomination. |

| Judi has taught at BSU for
8 years, primarily in the areas of Health and Behavioral Sciences, Practice, and Policy. She is
the Practicum Coordinator, and teaches seminars and supervised field
experience also. Aside from an interest in travel and parenting two
teenagers, Judi enjoys focusing on macro level social work practice,
and has spent several years developing services related to domestic
violence, child care and child development, employment, housing,
family planning, and equal opportunity for various under-represented
populations. Her Masters of Social Work is from the University of Michigan. |

Ericka Flye |

| She joined RTV6 in March
2000 as a general assignment reporter and Saturday morning anchor.
Flye now anchors the weekend 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts. Flye
previously was a reporter at The Ohio News Network, WBNS in Columbus,
Ohio. Her first news job was at WTHR, Indianapolis, as an
overnight news anchor. The Anderson native attended Purdue
University and graduated from Ball State University with a degree in
telecommunications. Ericka now lives in the Indianapolis area.
In her spare time, she enjoys music, shopping, and sports. "I'm
a huge sports fan and cheer on the local teams to the end!" Ericka
said. She especially enjoys working with children, and makes
appearances at various events involving or benefiting young people. |

Sondra Gentry began
her career in education as an early childhood teacher and has taught
pre-school, kindergarten, elementary, middle school and college.
As an Ohio Licensed Social Worker she developed and managed community
programs for family reunification, programs for children with
developmental delays and healthy mothers/healthy babies outreach
programs. As a conflict mediation trainer and substance abuse
prevention specialist, Sondra utilized her past experience and
training to design and manage community youth development programs
within Indianapolis. |

Jim Hester |

| Jim Hester is a
photographer for Indianapolis' WISH-TV station. His association
with WISH TV has lasted 25 years. Jim started with WISH in the
production department as camera floor operator in 1977. 1978, Jim was
selected as the stations first ENG editor. Jim’s ambition and a
wonderful opportunity lead him to news photography. Over the years
Hester has earned various, and many awards. Indiana News
Photographers Association, Regional National Press Photographers
Association, National Association of Black Journalist, Regional and
National Emmy Awards. Needless to say Jim has entered a lot of
contest. Hester, has judged many local, regional, news photography
contest, and was selected to judge the national NPPA contest in 1999. |

Megan is a 1996 graduate
of Ball State University. She has worked at WTHR Channel 13 ever
since - the station hired her when her internship was completed as a
tape editor. After that she worked as weekend assignment manager and
since January of 2000 has served as the Assistant Community Affairs
Director/ Community Affairs Producer. She won an Emmy for Best Public
Service Announcement for work her department did on Indiana Remembers
9/11 in 2002.

Bob Kravitz is the elder statesman of
Star sports columnists, having worked for the paper since 2000.
He is married, has two young daughters,
two cats and too many emotional problems to count. In his spare
time, he attempts to play ice hockey and golf.
Bob writes four times a week, with two
or three of them being vaguely readable.

A native of Korea,
Chin-Sook Pak is an Associate Professor of Spanish at BSU. Currently,
she is a fellow at Virginia B. Ball Center for Creative Inquiry,
teaching a 15-credit, community-immersion seminar entitled: "Servir
y Aprender: Creating a
Community-Centered Classroom." Working with various community
agencies in Hamilton County, the seminar will produce educational
videos in Spanish intended to disseminate legal/community information
to under-represented Hispanic population in the county. Chin-Sook
received her B.B.A. in Finance from College of William and Mary and
M.A. and Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Michigan. Many of
her courses taught at Ball State University include a community-based
learning component. |

Rod Russell
applied to the ISP five times between 1977 and 1985. He sincerely
wanted a career with the best of the best and at age 32 that dream of
“making a difference everyday” came true. Russell was a road trooper
at the Redkey District prior to becoming a Public Information Officer. His
greatest pleasures come from working with people, the media and road
troopers. His saddest times are those surrounding injuries and death
of officers. |

Kim Shelton |

|
Kim Shelton is a
Marketing Producer for WISH TV in Indianapolis, IN. She has been in
her current position for 2 years. In that time she has produced
numerous commercial spots, assisted in special event planning and
appeared on Work Shop Eight, a weekly home improvement segment. Kim is
married to the Rev. Timothy Shelton they have a new six month-old
daughter, Hannah-Rose Ruth. Kim is a graduate of the University
of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications.
Kim started her career in production at NBC affiliate WAVE TV in
Louisville, KY. Kim went on to work as an On Air Director for
Ball State University’s Media Services Department. While at Ball
State, she directed distance learning classes, produced videos for
several departments on campus and hosted and produced a monthly talk
show “How We See It” for WIPB. Kim has worked for the
Indianapolis Public Schools as a Producer/Director/Host.
Kim is active in her church, enjoys traveling and spending time with
her husband and daughter. |

the interim Chair of the Department of Psychological Science, the
Treasurer of the Society for the Psychological Study of Lesbian, Gay,
and Bisexual issues, a member of the Board of Directors for the
Damien Center (a comprehensive AIDS service organization), a member of
the Board of Directors of the Diversity Roundtable of Central Indiana
among a host of other things. |

| Stan Stollars joined the
TCOM faculty in 1992. After earning B.S. and M.A. degrees in
journalism (BSU, ’78 & ’80) he narrated documentaries for McGraw-Hill
Broadcasting and produced more than 250 episodes of the Indiana
history radio series, “The 19th State.” He recently lead the
design work for TCOM’s new stereo and surround-sound audio studios in
the Ball Building, and also anchors and edits Indiana Public Radio’s
“Morning Edition” newscasts that have won 16 “Best Newscast” awards
since 1996 from the Indiana Associated Press (AP), the Society of
Professional Journalists (SPJ), and the Radio and Television News
Directors Association (RTNDA). |

Steve Sweitzer is
the News Operations Manager for WISH-TV, the CBS affiliate in
Indianapolis, Indiana. In that capacity, he supervises the
photographic staff, works on long range planning for special events,
oversees the newsroom computer system and supervises the station’s
satellite coverage. Steve is also a past president of the National
Press Photographers Association and currently chairs several
workshops. In 1971, he earned a BA from Earlham College in
Photographic Journalism and in 1987 he earned a Masters in Journalism
from IU. He now teaches Broadcasting Journalism for IUPUI. In 2003 he
won the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching by a part-time
faculty member. |

Steve
Watkins joined the Muncie Police Department ten years ago at age 35.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point
with a degree in Parks and Recreation Administration; his last
position before joining the Police Department was Superintendent of
the Muncie Parks and Recreation Department. Steve is currently
assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit and is the Evidence
Technician for the Fatality Investigation Team. Steve has State and
Federal training as an Evidence Technician and Crash Investigator.
Steve is a DARE Officer who approaches his job as a Community Service
Representative to the Community. |

Young-Hee spearheaded
the '13 Listens' project in 1997 to help WTHR-TV become more
responsive to the community. In that capacity she organized community
forums, town hall meetings, and bus tours throughout the state to
listen to people’s concerns. Currently, she coordinates the station’s
special projects and events. She has a Masters Degree in Education
from Indiana University and a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications,
also from Indiana University. Young-Hee is a two-time Cleveland Emmy
winner (1998 and 2002) and has won several awards from the Indiana
Broadcasters Association for Community Service, Public Service
Announcement and Promotion. |
