College of Sciences and Humanities

The college is home to the humanities; the physical, earth, and life sciences; and the social sciences—subjects central to the university’s core curriculum courses required of all students. In addition, the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology are based in the college.

The largest academic unit at Ball State University, the College of Sciences and Humanities is committed to the belief that students must be trained in specific skills and educated to think critically, communicate clearly, solve problems creatively, act responsibly, and live fully. The college focuses on the concept of wholeness, an ideal of coherence that helps students synthesize knowledge and make connections among the many specialties and subspecialties that make up the universe of knowledge.
