Story-Telling Interviews: Using Behavior-based Interviewing
A continuing challenge for human resources practitioners is seeing beyond the "stories" that job applicants may tell during interviews. How do we know when applicants are accurately describing their abilities and skills?
Recently, rather than discouraging candidates from "telling stories", more and more employers are encouraging job seekers to do just that. This trend is based upon an interviewing style called behavior-based interviewing (or BBI) which encourages job applicants to describe situations when they've utilized skills and abilities similar to those used in the job for which they've applied.
