Students started the field trip to Indianapolis at the Botanical Gardens, taking a tour with Anne Hildner, one of the landscape architects from Rendell-Ernstberger Associates, who designed the gardens.
The group gets ready to start the walk along the canal...toward the site for their next project.
Students sit on a hillside listening to Kelly Siegert from the Historical Landmarks Foundation of Indiana tell them a little bit of history about the canal.
While in Indy, students also had the opportunity to take a tour of the offices of Ratio, an Indianapolis-area architecture firm. Three employees of Ratio talked to our students about what working as an architect, a landscape architect, or an urban planner is like.
Finally, some relaxation! Students take in a baseball game at Victory Field, home of the Indianapolis Indians, who managed to win their game 4-3 against the SkyChiefs.
