The synthesis of climate responsive design and digital practices
Brian Pace
2008 | Master of Architecture
This creative project is an illustration of various climate responsive design techniques derived from the creation of a tool that is intended to help shape a point of view for using the climate and the environmental conditions associated with it as a basis for design. The form and function of the building were informed by the tool to achieve a building that takes full advantage of what nature has to offer. Digital analysis of various building systems was used to find optimal solutions. This project demonstrates how architects can incorporate climate data and conditions with information from digital models and analysis to produce architecture that responds to climate and is respectful of the environment while achieving an optimal level of performance.
