Chicago 2016
Sustainable Olympic Housing, the built legacy
Emil Mastandrea III

There is no larger venue in the world than the Olympic Games. Many times this mega-event is used by the host city solely as a tool for self-promotion. This project explores the possibility how of making this a sustainable event could be role model for those cities which come after it as well as be an act of beneficence to its own residents. My proposed Olympic Village for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Chicago – which must be new construction of over 4 million square feet to hold over 17,000 athletes – achieves this by functioning as an urban in-fill project.
