Sustainable Preservation
A case study in Toledo, Ohio
Leanne Mason
2008 | Master of Architecture
This project studies how the fields of sustainability and preservation can work together for mutual benefit using Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED-NC checklist as guidelines. A specific building is looked at as a case study to answer the question: Can a historic building achieve at least a LEED Gold rating without losing its historic integrity?
