Simulative Architecture
Applications of emulating natural processes within architecture
Samuel Alcorn
2008 | Master of Architecture
Computers are now an almost necessary part of the profession of architecture. Never before has the access of information within any given project been as available. This has allowed for the construction of buildings to become more and more efficient as standards have developed. The computer has become an effective tool as a purveyor of information, but there is still work to be done for it to be used as a design tool. This project focuses on the ability of the computer to simulate real-world phenomena. Through the implementation of algorithms architects now have the ability to study a complex process, manipulate it, and apply it to the design of an actual building.
