arts and culture, festivals, and other events. |

This committee examines and develops Downtown learning opportunities for
everyone, from the pre-schooler to the senior citizen. This includes
traditional educational venues including public and private primary
schools, but also higher education with IUPUI, continuing education or job
training for employees and residents of Downtown, and lifelong learning
programs that enhance the quality of life Downtown. This committee strives
to make Downtown a world class place to learn. |

Housing, Neighborhoods, Places of Worship, Health & Wellness, Human
Services, Diversity & Inclusion This committee discusses Downtown as
a community and place to live. This includes the diversity, affordability,
and availability of housing Downtown, the need for neighborhood-oriented
retail, the availability and effectiveness of human services, the
relationship with government, institutions, and places of worship, and
overall quality of life issues that are important to making Downtown a
world-class neighborhood. |

Infrastructure, Transportation, Parking, Greenways, Bikeways,
Pedestrians, Transit, Universal Accessibility This committee looks
at movement systems Downtown , including the movement of people, goods and
services, information, utilities, and infrastructure. Infrastructure
includes utilities, storm and sanitary sewer, and communications.
Transportation includes streets, parking, public transportation,
pedestrian routes and accommodations, greenways, and bikeways. This
committee strives to provide world-class systems, services, and amenities
to support all aspects of Downtown. |

Historic Preservation, Urban Design, Sustainability, Ecology, Parks,
Recreation & Open Space, Finance & Development This committee looks
at Downtown as a place that is composed of both the natural and built
environments. This includes the relationships between buildings, between
districts, and between the past, present, and future. This committee
focuses on achieving excellence in urban design, sustainability, and
ecological responsibility. One final aspect of this committee is the
identification and development of resources for the finance and
implementation of plan recommendations. |

Economic Base, Workforce & Jobs, Health & Life Sciences, Technology,
Industry, Advanced Manufacturing, Office Development
This committee
seeks to make Downtown a world class
center for economic activity, including
information technology, advanced
manufacturing, research and development,
corporate headquarters, and the life
sciences. This committee will also examine
more traditional aspects of Downtown,
including retail and office development,
as well as address workforce development
needs. |
