CAP:IC Educational Programs Back

At the core of the CAP:IC mission is education--not only to traditional students, but to area design and planning professionals as well as the general community. CAP:IC is typically host to numerous continuing education opportunities throughout the year in the form of conferences, workshops, and discussions. Such courses in the past have ranged from grant writing to drawing techniques to historic paint analysis.

Academic offerings typically include several graduate-level courses offered through Ball State at the Center. Students based at Ball State's campus in Muncie also use the Center as a base of operations for projects in and around Indianapolis.

CAP:IC also maintains a list of potential projects that would make great studio, course, or thesis projects.  More Information

Urban Planning
CAP:IC is currently host to several courses offered by the Department of Urban Planning. The Department offers a Master of Urban and Regional Planning with two tracks: the traditional 48-hour track and the accelerated 36-hour track open to students already possessing an accredited undergraduate degree in urban planning. Accelerated track students are typically paired as graduate assistants with local firms or organizations through the CAP:IC Graduate Fellows Program. More Information

Graduate Fellows Program
The CAP:IC Graduate Fellowship program pairs graduate students with design and planning firms, government agencies, and community development organizations. Graduate fellows receive invaluable real-world working experience that parallels their graduate education, while employers benefit by having a professional college graduate employed at an affordable cost. Political Science
