Rationale
I chose my paper from Political Science 342 covering education policies written about in the “New York Times,” from August of 2005 to November of 2005, as my artifact because it shows my knowledge of education policies and the impact they have on my career and the students I teach. I decided to pair this artifact with Intasc #7 because this article shows my interest in familiarizing myself with educational issues in order to better serve my students and their educational needs. Through preparing this paper, I learned a lot about issues plaguing our public school systems, scholarships available to students, No Child Left Behind Policies, and policies that affect me and my teaching. The articles I found in the "New York Times" encouraged me to continue to educate myself in issues and policies that affect the education system so that I can use my knowledge to educate my students properly and make them aware of policies that affect their education. Intasc #7 encourages the teacher to use knowledge to prepare instruction that applies to their student's lives, community, and curriculum goals. This artifact shows my knowledge of education policies and with this knowledge, I hope to impact my student's lives, community, and meet curriculum goals that will impact their educational career in an effective way. |
