Name of Book: Leo the Late Bloomer

Grade Level: 1-2

Description:  Before reading the book, prepare the necessary materials for making flowers for Leo and your student. You will need a 3" circle, a stem, and five petals for the student and Leo.  Put Leo's
name and your student's name on the circles.  After you've read the story, have the student tell
you what things Leo could do after he "bloomed."   Write these things on the petals (one on each
petal).   Glue the petals and the stem on Leo's circle.  Have your student write things that he/she can
do on the petals.  After the student has written down things that he/she can do, have the student glue the petals and stem onto the circle with his/her name on it.
