This type of poetry uses many descriptive words and phrases.  Read the example poem and follow the outline below to write your own cinquain poem.

Here is an example of a cinquain poem:

Wright Brothers
first flyers
testing, trying, flying
two very determined men
brave

Now write your own using these rules:

Line 1- one word that names the subject
Line 2- two words that describe the subject
Line 3- three verbs that describe actions about the subject
Line 4- Four words that express a feeling about the subject
Line 5- One word that describes the subject or is a synonym for the subject
