Rivco Passenger Floorboard Risers

Billet Aluminum Risers allow 4 inches of height adjustment for the passenger floorboards at the same time bringing the foot position 1/2" back. The riser can be reverse to allow the foot position to go 1/2" forward. My wife is 5'-0" tall, so I don't think we will be needing that option. Triple chrome plated, install in minutes

This is a simple and reasonably attractive way to raise your passengers floorboards and give that under-tall passenger the comfort that they deserve.

You should be aware that you will have to remove the risers (remove bottom two bolts and remove the whole assembly) in order to remove the side covers. Found this out when installing my auxiliary lights. This is not a big deal but, you better add the Allen wrench to your tool kit.

.

This is with the floorboard in the up position. Mine never are in this position, even when riding alone. I don't like the look.

If this sounds like too much money to make your passenger happy. You might try this option that I saw at the Honda Homecoming 2001. It's a wooden block cut to the shape of the floorboard and tie strapped to hold it in place. I had threatened my wife with this modification; but, someone else actually did it. Note: my bike is red not blue!

Installation Instructions

Flip the passenger floorboards in the up or closed position. Remove the two (4) Allen bolts that attaches them to the frame.

Note: there are four slots. Use either pair of slots, depending on your desired placement of the passenger floorboards. The curved shots should sweep up and back towards the rear of the motorcycle in order to raise  and move the the passenger floorboards toward the rear. You may reverse the left and rights so that the slots curve forward to gain further forward placement for the passenger feet if desired.

Install the carriage bolts (round heads) into the basic side of the risers (side opposite of recess for mounting screws). Then the plastic washer, next the floorboard, then, then a washer, lock  washer, and nut. Tighten only finger tight. Install the riser floorboard assembly back into the frame using the original Allen bolts and placing aluminum spacers between the risers and the frame, tighten only finger tight.

Have the passenger sit in the normal position and adjust the floorboards for passenger comfort. I used a marker to mark the position. Remove the floorboards from the mount and tighten the hardware holding the floorboard to the riser securely. Even though I had marked the floorboard position with respect to the riser, I measured to make sure that both were installed at the same height.

Install the riser floorboard assembly back into the frame using the original Allen bolts placing aluminum spacers between the risers and the frame, Tighten securely.
