PIAA Lights

For those times when I might be wandering the back roads and in need of extra lights I decided that I would add an extra set of driving lights. I already have the Tulsa lights that fit in the lowering cowling that I have wired to work with the low beams. But I wanted something that I could run with the high beams to add extra light in the wilderness. I was looking at Ron Smith's brackets which are made for the PIAA 910's. The 910's offer 100 Watts per light. The only problem is that I need my bike set up for both touring with my wife and for endurance riding alone. Ron's brackets would require me to remove my mirror wings, which could create buffeting for my passenger.

I decided on Cyclegadgets.com PIAA 004XT lights and Ezy-mount brackets.

The new Ezy-Mount bracket for the GL1800 Gold Wing creates a very attractive installation while offering full stability and adjustability with PIAA 004-series lamps. The Ezy-Mount is an excellent solution for auxiliary lighting.  The clean profile of the bike is not marred by any external brackets or exposed wiring, and the Ezy-Mount allows a full range of aiming adjustments to meet all needs.  The brackets are designed to be easily removed with the lights in place, and when reattached the lights are aimed just as before.

I wired the lights so that they work with the high beams. Wow. I had people flashing their lights in daylight. Exactly what I was looking for. Not only are the lights very functional, they also look great.
